چکیده

1.1 This gas chromatographic method is designed to determine the concentrations in soil and water of petroleum hydrocarbons from nhexane (C6) to n-pentatriacontane (C 35); an approximate boiling point range from 70C to 500C. This includes the gasoline, diesel range, and some portions of heavier fuels and lubricating oils. This method also describes the separation of the petroleum hydrocarbons into their aliphatic and aromatic fractions.

Bioconversion of petroleum hydrocarbons in soil using apple filter cake

The aim of this study was to investigate the feasibility of using apple filter cake, a fruit-processing waste to enhance the bioremediation of petroleum contaminated soil. A rotating barrel system was used to study the bioconversion of the xenobiotic compound by natural occurring microbial population. The soil had been accidentally polluted with a total petroleum hydrocarbon concentration of 41...

Bioaccumulation and translocation factors of petroleum hydrocarbons in Aeluropus littoralis

Background: Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), which consist of fused conjugated aromatic rings, not only are toxic to humans and other living organisms, but will also pollute groundwater. These compounds can be point source or non-point source and are one of the most widespread organic pollutants. Some of them are suspected carcinogens and are linked to other health problems. This study ...

Removal of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPHs) from Oil-Polluted Soil in Iran

Phytoremediation is an emerging environmental-friendly technology that can be a promising solution to remediate oil-polluted soils. The impact of high amount of hydrocarbons on growth characteristics of burningbushand common flax was evaluated in this survey. The influence of organic fertilizers was also assessed on growth of plant species in oil...

The Effect of Urban Fuel Stations on Soil Contamination with Petroleum Hydrocarbons

Background:A critical environmental impact of the petroleum industry is the contamination of soil by oil and other related products which are highly toxic and exhibit molecular recalcitrance. Therefore, this study focused on investigating the total amount of petroleum hydrocarbons (TPHs) in soil of urban fuel stations in Hamedan City, Iran. Methods:Thirteen high traffic urban fuel stations ...

Removal of total petroleum hydrocarbons from polluted urban soils of the outskirts of Ahvaz, southwestern Iran

Earlier phases of economic expansion and urban development have resulted in significant sources of urban soil contamination. Petroleum hydrocarbons are one of the most common groups of persistent organic contaminants in the environment. In this study, two types of treatment in 3 concentrations were prepared that were included plant treated by 1% oil pollution, treatment by 1% contamination with...
